DESCRIPTION:This event is the official Pennsylvania Senior Open. You must be 50 or older to play as of 8/3/25 (when the Irwin tournament starts all participants must be 50 or over.)  You may be from any state. However\, to represent Pennsylvania in the Irwin Championship at the U. S. Open\, you must be a citizen of Pennsylvania.\nOne section – G/90 d5. Round Times: Saturday – 10 – 1:30 – 5; Sunday 9:30 – 1\nPrizes: Irwin representative for top Pennsylvanian; 1st Overall – $200\, 2nd Overall – $100; Top Under 2000 – $90; Top Under 1800 – $80; Top Under 1600 – $70; Top Under 1400 – $60; Top Under 1200 – $50; Top Under 1000 – $50; Top Upset – $50 \nEntry Fee: $30\nPlease note that there are stairs to both playing areas. If this is a problem\, I can arrange to use a room on the main floor (there are still two steps to get into the building)\, but it would be helpful to know beforehand. Coffee/tea/water is available. Fast food/sit-down restaurants/convenience stores are within a few minutes’ commute. Two or three hotels are about 5 minutes away\, and many are within about 20 minutes. There will also be a small selection of chess literature for sale. \nOne half-point bye allowed; must declare by the start of round 2. \nWhen signing up\, click blue registration button\, fill out form\, don’t worry if there is no grade\, etc. (we do many kid events\, but you can just ignore those blanks)\, click submit\, and then reload page to see if you want to double check that you have signed up. \nPlease note that we have moved into April as the first weekend in March is the State Scholastic and the Ira Lee Riddle State Championship.
