SUMMARY:Chess Basics - Weekly 04/3 to 05/22
DESCRIPTION:This class will assume you can move the pieces\, but cover the three special rules\, basic checkmates\, and the like.  The design of the class is very hands-on and interactive\, though with some chess discussion at the beginning. \nThe class starts on 4/3 and will meet on 4/3\, 10\, 17\, 24\, and May 5/1\, 8\, 15\, 22. It is designed for children in the 5—to 8-year age range\, though older and younger children may be accepted. Vahini Sadhu Venkata teaches the class\, and she currently ranks in the Top 50 in her age group. The class has rolling admission\, and the cost will reflect that.

The course will mostly focus on tactics – i.e. forks\, pins skewers\, discovered check\, double check\, and the like. \nRam Singh is the teacher and the classes will be held at Tri-Bridges Chess Club – 666 Exton Commons\, Exton PA 19341. \nAll classes are 8 weeks and $80. They all start the week of 3/16 and will end the week of 5/5. \nIt is helpful for our planning and bookkeeping to sign up for the first class\, but you do not need to sign up for each and everyone.
