SUMMARY:Winter Open
DESCRIPTION:Wanting to encourage a bit of boldness in the chess players in the region\, Cherry Perumalla and Christopher Romeril greatly helped me put the following tournament together. \nTime Control: G30/d10 – 5 rounds \nPrizes: $2500 total over 2 Sections – Open and Under 1000.  Numerous Under Prizes. \nOpen – $650 – $400 – $250; Under 1800 – $100; Under 1600 – $75; Under 1400 – $50; Under 1200 – $50 \nUnder 1000 – $300\, $200\, $100\, Under 800 – $75\, Under 600 – $50 \nEF $50; $70 1/31 or after; Under 1000 EF $30; $40 1/31 or after \nRegistration ends at 9:45 – 10\, 11:30\, 1:30\, 3:00\, 4:30.  The extra half hour after the 11:30 round should allow people to get lunch from wherever they like. \nThough the Autumn Open had low attendance\, due to tight timeline and limited advertising\, we liked the set up and hope to have even more great players this time.

SUMMARY:Wild Wednesday Blitz Event
DESCRIPTION:Stop in for our once a month Wednesday blitz tournament.  This event will be at 7 pm.  Players and sections will be determined based on entries.  Generally there are 2 sections and the blitz is double games (you play each opponent twice.)  The event usually takes less than 2 hours and has a few trophy prizes.  This will alternate every 2 weeks with a quick tournament with the same set up.  The blitz event is 3 d2.  The time for the quick event is 8 d3 (See January 14 and February 11)\, to help everyone get ready for the state quick championship (3/6) the Friday night before the main state scholastic championship (March 7-8).

SUMMARY:ECE #120 - PA State Scholastic Warm-Up
DESCRIPTION:$100 Open Prize – 4 Round G40\, d5 \nG40\, d5 is the longest we can easily make and still complete in about 5 to 6 hours.\nWe are doing a longer time control to help people get ready for the State Championships in Harrkbur the following weekend.\nThe 1st round will start at 12 and the other rounds – roughly 12\, 1:30\, 3\, and 4:30 (will be paired as soon as possible.)\nThe sections are Open\, Under 1100\, Under 800\, and Under 500 (sections are chosen to copy some of the sections at the state championship the following weekend.)  The Open has 3 trophy prizes and a $100 for first place.  The other sections will have at least three trophy prizes.  Hope to see everyone there!
